I first contacted P. Moody Renovation Contracts after noticing damp patches along the skirting board and fireplace in my lounge. Within twenty-four hours it was arranged for an inspection to come out two days later. Using sensory equipment it became obvious that the old Damp Course was failing so a new one was booked. At the same time, a weakness in the external brickwork was also identified so Peter suggested a Hilia fitting to repair a large crack in the mortar.

Within TWO days of the work, the chemical insertions/replastering was expertly completed with the lounge walls now looking so much better. Their workmanship is VERY impressive without too much mess or detritus so that now everything can soon be redecorated and fully-restored to normal.

I called Peter Moody after discovering rising damp in a flat which I had just purchased. Dealing with damp can be quite distressing, but Peter put my mind to rest straight away. From telephoning Peter Moody he took very little time before coming out to look at two of our properties which were suffering from damp, and to provide a quote for the job. I knew how professional he was as he not only looked at the problem, but he drew plans of the areas affected, together with measurements. He explained everything to me including advice what to do after the job was completed to reduce further occurrences of damp. Our properties are circa 15th century.

He was very quick in providing the quote, and following my acceptance of the quotes, he agreed a start date which avoided inconvenience for the property residents. Peter and his team undertook a lower ground floor damp proofing on my new house. The cottage is 136 years old, built with solid brick walls, sitting directly on clay with no damp course, and has suffered very badly over the years from the ingress of rising damp.

Other contractors have tried numerous methods of control in the past, using various techniques to contain it, but have never met with a great deal of success. This of course has led to a great deal of expense and frustration.

We are very pleased with the work undertaken by Peter Moody and his team. The nature of the work involved the removal of concrete flooring and wall plaster from a basement area of the house which required re-tanking and lagging of a toilet and utility area. The workmen had to work in a very tight enclosed area with limited ventilation and all of the rubble had to be carried through the main part of the house.

Considering the extent of the work and the volume of rubble and dust that had to be removed, there was minimal disruption and dust transfer to the rest of the house. This was largely due to the care and consideration of the workmen and the methods employed for the job.

The products and processes used by P. Moody were of a very high specification and we are very pleased with the completed work, which was completed within the agreed timescales and budget. We would have no hesitation in recommending Peter Moody for any similar sub-terrain and damp proof work.

I first contacted Peter Moody (who was recommended to me) after I had a poor experience with a different damp proofing company, that lead to the work needing to be redone on my property.

I am a 66yrs old female and live alone so I was very concerned / anxious about having this type of work redone, however, when Peter Moody arrived at my house to make an assessment, he put me at ease.

He assessed my house for the need for damp proofing and created a report, which I could take my time to read through. He offered to answer any questions that I may have, which would reassure me further. The price was fair and in line with other companies that I had researched, but it was Peter’s reputation that made me decide to go with him.

Arranging a start date, time schedule for work to be completed was simple and the work began on time. The workmen were polite when they arrived and again were very reassuring. I felt I could trust them in my home, which is very important.
